In order to bring transparency in the development works carried out by the Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG), the civic body on Sunday launched a new web portal, where people can monitor the progress of any project.
The website was launched by the finance commissioner and principal secretary of Urban Local Bodies Department, SS Dhillon.
The new portal will be linked to the MCG's official website. People can access details of any project by clicking on the link 'Under Information' and then on 'Engineering Projects'.
Besides the common man, the portal will also help municipal councillors as well as officials to monitor the progress of any project, said MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal.
The ward number, name of the project, cost, duration, current status, and amount of money given to the contractor would be displayed on the site.
The website will also have pictures of the sites before and after the work carried out for each project. The photographs will be updated in seven days so that people can see the changes. In future, details of the projects approved by the administration will also be uploaded, Rajpal said.
MCG has already set up a page on social networking website Facebook to get feedback from public. Also, it has a call center with toll free number 18000-180-1817.
“It got 7,624 complaints from June till now. Out of these, 6,275 complaints have been resolved,” Dhillon said.
