Around 150 volunteers of the NSS marched in the procession from Parade Ground to Mahavir Marg, Sangam, Hanuman Mandir before heading back towards the Parade Ground. The volunteers collected polythene bags thrown around and carried banners with messages urging people to discard use of polythene bags.
The volunteers raised slogans like ‘Ganga mein na dalo phool, dalo tulsi aur doodh’, ‘Jan jan ko samjhana hai polythene hatana hai’ to press home the message. The procession received a warm welcome and the organisers were praised for their effort by the Mela authorities.
Yuva saptah concludes YUVA SAPTHAH, a weeklong programme organised by ECC wing of the NSS concluded on January 19. The programme was supervised by Dr Anil Kumar Singh, reader at the Physical Science department.
Dr Singh said great social workers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Debendra Nath Tagore, Swami Vivekanand among others have played important role in the social development of the country and the whole world. Later, Dr Awadhesh Kumar Singh, Dr Sharda Sundaram Sanjay also addressed the NSS volunteers.
