Odisha: Bride rejects drunk groom
A bride in Odisha’s Kendrapada district refused to get married after the groom turned up at the wedding venue on Monday evening drunk and misbehaved with her family.

A bride in Odisha’s Kendrapada district refused to get married after the groom turned up at the wedding venue on Monday evening drunk and misbehaved with her family.
“How can I marry someone so irresponsible? A person who gets drunk on the most important day of my life does not deserve to be my husband,” said the 22-year-old Subhadra Mallick.
People from her village backed this decision and after a meeting they detained the groom and his family till they apologised to her family and paid all expenses incurred by them.
