One dead, 26 injured in community clash

One person has been killed and 26 others injured, in a clash between groups belonging to two different Patel communities in Dhedal village of the district, say the police.

Police fired 15 rounds in air to control the unruly mob belonging to Bharvad and Koli Patel community, Ahmedabad district superintendent of police SS Trivedi told PTI.

"The deceased is yet to be identified," he said.

"Most of the injured have been shifted to near by referral centres, while the four seriously injured have been shifted to VS Hospital in Ahmedabad city," Trivedi added.

The situation is under control and an investigation has been initiated in the matter, he said.
