One militant killed in encounter with army in J-K's Uri

An encounter broke out on Wednesday morning between army and militants in Kazinagar Dhar area on LoC near Uri.

One militant has been killed and an AK 47 rifle recovered in an ongoing encounter between army and militants near the LOC on Wednesday.

The encounter had started in Kazinagar Dhar area on LOC near Uri following information about presence of militants there.

"One militant has been killed and an AK 47 has been recovered. The encounter is going on," said an army spokesman.

The encounter started around 7am in the morning.

According to sources, security forces laid cordon in Uri area of North Kashmir following information about presence of militants there. A group of four to five militants are believed to be present in the area.

The search operation is still on in the area .

"The entire are has been cordoned. Further details awaited," the spokesman said.
