ONGC discovers hydrocarbons in two blocks

Indian state-run explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corp has found oil and gas in two of its exploration blocks around India's eastern coast, the company said in a statement.

Indian state-run explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corp has found oil and gas in two of its exploration blocks around the country's eastern coast, the company said in a statement.

It struck oil and gas in an onshore block in the Cauvery basin, and gas in an offshore block in the Krishna-Godavari basin, ONGC notified the regulator Directorate General of Hydrocarbons.

The company did not give details of the potential reserves in the statement issued late on Friday.
