It was a lingerie show that was supposed to be different. Korean lingerie brand, Try Chaville’s launch in India on Monday turned out to be quite a damp squib. Oomphy Russian models flaunted their well-endowed figures in trendy lingerie at a low-key fashion show held at The Park on Monday.

The show started with the Secret I collection, which was titillating without being in your face. The next collection, PYT (that’s Pretty Young Thing in case you wondered) included light and pastel coloured camisoles and shorts for men (well, men deserve their cool innerwear too). The remaining three collections focussed more on sporty look, reversible sports brasserie being the highlight.

The models (some of them were also Indian faces) did make an effort to look sexy but ended up looking uncomfortable and didn’t even walk the runway properly. We even spotted some of the models hurrying along the ramp as if to finish the show and get on with something else!

Sheikh Shakir’s lackluster choreography only made things worse as the models ambled along the ramp in a clumsy fashion. Add to that Delhi based make-up artist Sonia Batra’s disastrous efforts at make-up: the faces were so overdone that the audience had no option but to concentrate on the lingerie instead.

The fabric used for the collections was cotton. Omkar N Mutreja, President Maxwell Industries Ltd said, “In India cotton is best suited for lingerie. Our collection is priced from Rs 69-1,100.” Zenya, a Russian model who was part of the show felt, “The best part about the lingerie is that it is not just sexy, but comfortable too.”
