Oppn flays Biman Bose's comments
LF chairman Biman Bose's remarks against some poll observers were flayed by NTC and Congress with the latter demanding legal action by EC against him.
Left Front chairman Biman Bose's remarks against some poll observers in West Bengal were flayed by the Nationalist Trinamool Congress and Congress on Sunday with the latter demanding legal action by the Election Commission against Bose.

"I demand that the EC take legal steps against the LF chairman. The EC has the authority to show cause Bose for his remarks and take legal action against him," WBPCC working president Pradip Bhattacharya said.
Saying that the conduct and supervision of the polling process was the prerogative of the EC, Bhattacharya observed, ''Nobody can prevent or obstruct the functioning of the constitutional body."
Nationalist Trinamool Congress leader Pankaj Banerjee termed Bose's comments as "unfortunate" and said they indicated that the CPI (M) was "scared because of the EC's initiatives to ensure free and fair polls".
Bose had on Saturday threatened some poll observers to "throw them into police stations if they continue to go beyond their limits and disturb the peaceful environment of polling".
Bhattacharya, on the other hand, expressed his satisfaction over the steps being taken and promised by the EC to ensure free and fair poll in the state, but said, "I have my doubts over how much the base level functionaries will implement the measures promised by the EC".
Given a free and fair elections, he said, "Congress will definitely improve its standing and gain more number of seats than the previous elections".
Banerjee said the BJP-NTC alliance hoped that "there will be some impact of the steps being taken by EC... If there is free and fair poll in the state, we will get record number of seats this time".
