"At 11.30 p.m. yesterday (Monday), Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing at our positions in Bhimber Gali on the LoC in Poonch," Col. Manish Mehta told IANS.

"They used automatic weapons to target our positions. We responded with equal calibre weapons to the enemy fire. No damage or casualty occurred on our side," he said.

This was the third violation of the ceasefire by Pakistan in Poonch district this month.
