Pakistan has no information on whether Osama bin Laden is still alive or on his possible whereabouts, an official said in Islamabad on Monday.

"We have no information about his coordinates, or if he is dead or alive," foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam said at the weekly press briefing.
She was speaking after a French newspaper on Saturday quoted a leaked French intelligence report alleging the Al-Qaeda terrorist leader had died of typhoid.
She also rejected as "absolutely baseless" a British newspaper's allegation that a peace deal signed recently by the Pakistani government with pro-Taliban tribesmen in a lawless area on the border with Afghanistan became possible after fugitive Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar approved of it.
