The Pakistani had crossed through Tarang Nallah in this sector and was under interrogation by police, official sources said.

Immediately after his arrest, the Pakistani national started talking like a mentally unsound and maintained that he had crossed inadvertently into the Indian territory, they said.

The sources said he may be handed back to the Pakistani authorities after it is ascertained if he had strayed into the Indian territory.

The incident comes in the wake of serious infiltration bids by terrorists from across the border at various places in the state following which the BSF had claimed a birds-eye vigil along the border.
