Sources in the Secondary Education Department said the high court order had come as a relief to newly selected secondary teachers.
Now, they would not have to approach the court to resolve problems regarding joining their place of posting.
The committee of senior education officials would take care of their problems.
A letter issued by the special secretary, UP Government, HL Gupta on June 19 last stated that taking note of a writ (74421/2005 Prem Prakash Vs State), the high court on February 15 ordered setting up of a committee to look into matters of posting, joining, and other problems of secondary teachers.
Following the directive, it was decided to set up a four-member committee. The committee would be presided over by additional education director (secondary education).
The other members would be joint director, education, of the concerned division, secretary of UP Secondary Education Selection Board and deputy secretary of UP Secondary Education Selection Board.
The letter further stated that the selection board would send the list of vacancies for which it was likely to conduct a written examination. This would enable the committee to have proper knowledge regarding vacancies and in turn help selected candidates from running into legal obstacles at the time of joining duty.
