Panjabi Baba given Jal Samadhi

THE FUNERAL procession of Sri Sri 108th Panjabi Bhagwan Maharaj (Chitrakoot Wale) was taken out from the Ram Janaki Mutt in Assi on Tuesday. He had passed away in the wee hours of Monday. He was given ?Jal Samadhi? in the Ganga by his followers at Kedar Ghat on Tuesday.

THE FUNERAL procession of Sri Sri 108th Panjabi Bhagwan Maharaj (Chitrakoot Wale) was taken out from the Ram Janaki Mutt in Assi on Tuesday. He had passed away in the wee hours of Monday. He was given ‘Jal Samadhi’ in the Ganga by his followers at Kedar Ghat on Tuesday.

It was said that he was 100-year-old out and had spent 80 years in ‘tapasya’ at chitrakoot. His real name was Ramchandra Das. He was born in Punjab and had spent his childhood in Ayodhya where he came in contact with Sant Ram Padarath Das.

There was an unprecendented rush of devotees at his mutt the moment the news about his death spread in the city. The devotees queued up at the mutt and offered floral tributes to the departed sant.

Thousands of devotees participated in the funeral procession.

Amid of chanting of the name of Shri Ram, the procession reached Harishchandra Ghat from where the devotes took the dead body of the sant on a boat and gave him ‘Jal Samadhi’ in front of Kedar ghat.
