The unique initiative has parents performing science experiments along with their children in the classroom.

“It’s an effort to take the learning process beyond the confines of the school by actively involving parents in their children’s education,” says Manika Sharma, principal, junior school, The Shri Ram School.

Stalls are being put up for each class, displaying their best experiments.

The science fair is open from 10am to 4.40pm.

“Mad About Science is our school’s endeavour to bring teachers and parents together. It has strengthened their bond and taken learning experience beyond the classroom into the students’ homes,” said Mark Parkinson, school director.

“As parents, we are privileged that we can be part of our child’s classroom. This not only helps parents enrich the child’s learning process, but also builds a special bond with teachers and other parents” says Prabhat Aggarwal, secretary, Parent- School Association.

Techtronics Education (India) Limited, a pioneer in promotion of the ‘learning by doing’ concept, established as a distributor of Robotics development platforms and hands-on learning aids, will set up a stall at the event. Similarly, United Way of Delhi, a Delhi-based NGO, will also set up a stall.
