The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has spent Rs. 45 lakh for the renovation of the park.
Huda has been undertaking the revamp work for the past one month.
Leisure Valley Park, which attracts a large number of people was in a dilapidated state before.
Life-size elephant statues have been installed at the park, attracting hordes of children every day. The manicured lawns also lend a cleaner look to the park.
To attract more visitors, Huda has introduced various entertainment shows, rides, restaurants, besides other attractions.
Two carved-stone gates and 40 benches have also been installed. Shelters made of red stone have also been set up in the park.
The horticulture department of the civic agency is also planting 500 saplings in the park.
“We have initiated a special drive for the beautification of the park. We have spent R45 lakh for the same. We will also install slides for children,”
VK Nirala, executive engineer, Huda (horticulture) told Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, city residents are elated at the move.
“Every park should have facilities for visitors. The Gurgaon administration has finally woken up and initiated measures to upgrade Leisure Valley Park,” said Satbir Singh, a regular visitor of the park.
“Leisure Valley Park was in a neglected state till recently. But upgrading the park is not enough, the Gurgaon administration should maintain it too,” said Vishal Bhargava, another visitor.
