It may be mentioned that Allahabad High Court has directed these civic authorities to redress the problem of illegal parking of vehicles in the city. These officials carried out a drive to stop illegal parking especially on Sardar Patel Marg and Mahatma Gandhi Marg for the last two months but the order is yet to be fully implemented by them.

One Maruti Gypsy is deployed on these roads urging the people through loudspeakers not to park vehicles on roads but it has failed to bring the desired change in the attitude of public. Fine is also imposed on vehicles flouting the traffic norms in Civil Lines. Meanwhile, NN has issued fresh notices to dozens of business establishments situated at Balson Crossing and Civil Lines areas for not following the parking norms by them.

Assistant Nagar Ayukt KD Singh told HT Allahabad Live that HC had asked us to take action against those not complying with the parking norms. Therefore, in compliance of the order we had served notices to six big business houses for not providing parking arrangements. They had been asked to reply within a week.

"They have been instructed to provide parking slot at their business establishments in a week's time otherwise NN will seal them immediately and realise penalty" said Singh. To recall the NN had sealed some big business houses on MG Marg and SP Marg last week and imposed heavy fine for flouting the parking norms.
