Parties stage pro-quota stir

MEMBERS OF the various political parties took out a procession and staged demonstration at the main gate of the BRD Medical College in support of the reservation in higher education institutions including medical colleges, engineering colleges and IIT for Dalits, other backward class and minorities. Coordinator of the demonstration Sanjay Yadav said the upper class has captured 90 per cent higher posts and a large section of society was still deprived of their rights. He said that agitation would continue in different phase.

Manoranjan Yadav and Surendra Kumar Bharti said the opposition of reservation was against the spirit of the Constitution and expressed his apprehension that it is deep-rooted conspiracy to deprive the OBC from higher education.

BSP leader Ram Preet Dhusia, Chandrika Bharti and Suresh Paswan said, “We are not begging for any extra facilities and the reservation is our genuine rights.”

SP leader Abdullah Khan, Umashanker Yadav, Afzal Khan, and Yashwant Kumar said deprived class was not ready to bear disparity.
