Parties yet to stake claim to form Govt

The Governor of Goa is yet to receive any letter from the political parties staking their claim to form the next government in the state.

The Governor of Goa is yet to receive any letter from the political parties staking their claim to form the next government in the state, officials said in Panaji on Wednesday.

Raj Bhavan confirmed that none of the political leaders have even sought an appointment from Governor SC Jamir to meet him and formally submit the letter.

Congress, the single largest party, is yet to decide on their leader in the House while NCP is entirely banking on Congress to form the government in the state.

Congress-NCP combine makes 19 legislators while it has to get support of two more to form the government in the 40-seat-House.
