REPUBLIC DAY programmes were held in various schools in different manner.
PIONEER CONVENT SCHOOL: Republic Day was celebrated in Pioneer Convent School yesterday. School Director P K Jain unfurled the National Flag and took salute of the parade. Jain asked the students to feel proud of being Indians.
During the programme, students presented PT and aerobics. Around 240 students were awarded for their excellent performance in various cultural and sports events. Red House was declared the ‘Best House’ and Green House was the runner up.
School Principal V P Sharma asked the students to make India the best nation in the world. Vijayata Jain and Rajat Vijayvargiya conducted the programme while Bhagwat proposed the vote of thanks.
CHRISTIAN EMINENT SCHOOL: The students of Christian Eminent School lighted lamps at the replica of India Gate near Regal Square the evening before Independence Day. School Principal Getrude Meer led the students. Parents and teachers also participated in the programme.
MATA GUJRI GIRLS COLLEGE: Mata Gujri Girls College celebrated Republic Day in a traditional manner.
Students Union president Dilraj Kaur Bhatia hoisted the National Flag. College Chairman Pritam Singh Chabra addressed the girls and advised them to live as good citizens. Sweets were distributed among students. College Principal Dr Ram Shrivastav proposed the vote of thanks.
COLUMBIA CONVENT: A prize distribution ceremony and patriotic programmes by students marked Republic Day in Columbia Convent.
The pre-primary students were dressed in white kurta while the other students wore house uniforms. The students delivered speeches during the programme. School Principal Nalini Pal, Vice Principal Shella Jain and Ekta Tyagi presented the awards to the winners of inter-house competitions. The programme
concluded with a message by the principal to the students to become good human beings and live with compassion and brotherhood for others.
ISHAQUE PATEL PUBLIC SCHOOL: Republic Day was celebrated in Ishaque Patel Public School with great zeal and enthusiasm yesterday.
State Bank of India Assistant General Manager B L Chopra was the chief guest and Bank personal banking Chief Manager Sanjay Daschottar presided over the function. School Principal Rajesh Sharma and Chairman Mammu Patel welcomed the guests and placed lapel pins on their coats. Chopra announced that the bank would felicitate meritorious students of the school. The students presented patriotic dances and songs in the programme.
Daschottar felicitated national baseball players Taha Amil Ansari, Neha Solanki, Nasima Mullah and Shobit Gupta. Vindhya House won the Best House shield and Brahmaputra House was awarded for overall activity. Manish Sharma conducted the programme while Karthik J S proposed the vote of thanks.
QUEENS’ COLLEGE: An intra-school patriotic song competition was held in Queens’ College on Republic Day. School Principal Kusum Sharma hoisted the National Flag. She motivated the students to follow the path led by great leaders and maintain the sanctity of the nation as desired by them. Girl scouts of the school presented a special programme.
Ganga House was the winner of song competition followed by Ahilya House. Nazeefa Kanchwala proposed the vote of thanks.
