Acting on a tip-off, the forces launched an attack in Purnapani area and after a brief firing from both the sides, Anadi Bhuyian, belonging to the Maoists-backed Peoples' Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA), was nabbed.
Some detonators, 26 gelatin sticks and two mines were seized by the security men during the operation, they said. Altogether 24 villagers have also been detained by the police on suspicion.
Bhuyian was wanted by the police is six cases, including attacking police and supporting Maoists activities in the area.
