Opposition Peoples Democratic Party leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Friday filed his nomination papers for the Baramullah Lok Sabha seat.
Opposition Peoples Democratic Party leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Friday filed his nomination papers for the Baramullah Lok Sabha seat.
Baig is pitted against sitting MP and National Conference leader Sharif-ul-Din Shariq, Engineer Rashid of the Awami Ittehad Party and Peoples Conference's Salam-ul-din Bajad. Baramulla and Ladakh are scheduled to go for voting on May 7.
"The NC's politics of U-turns and sell-outs has created a trust deficit between the state and rest of the country, which is hard to fill," said Baig in his address made at Baramulla.
He said chief minister Omar Abdullah was blaming everybody except himself and his government for his failures.
"They are accusing the PDP of being allies of Modi and Jamat-e-Islami and in the same breath blames us of being the recipients of support from the Army and Hizbul Mujahideen," Baig said.
