According to information, the bird was spotted in the area in the morning and residents informed the Van Vihar authorities. However, the peacock was apparently very scared, being surrounded by so many humans and it kept on hopping from one place to another.

Eventually, it was almost after three hours and a lot of efforts that the Van Vihar team was able to rescue the bird. One leg of the bird was injured in the attempt and the officials took it to Van Vihar for treatment and to provide a safe shelter to the peacock.
