President of GDA Employees Association Jaiprakash Mishra said officials were doing lip service and no concrete steps were taken to solve their problems. Satish Chandra Tripathi another leader said the development work at GDA had come to a grinding halt due to callous attitude of the vice-chairman.

They demanded to regularise the services of daily-wages employees and expressed their anger that the daily-wages employees were working since last 16 year on a nominal pay scale and facing hardships. They demanded medical facilities and house rent allowance for the employees, as the employees of other development authorities are getting.

Tripathi said if the authorities would not resolve their demands by December 11, the employees would lock all the offices to mount pressure on the government. They also asked officials to put a barrier on the harassment of the employees and said any action against the employees would further aggravate the situation.

It is worth mentioning that tightening its noose against the functioning of the employees, the vice-chairman Arora has given bad entries to the union engineers and other employees for dereliction in their duties and overlooking ongoing unauthorised construction work in different areas.

Sources said that the subordinate employees in GDA were hand- in- glove with colonisers and owners of marriage halls and nursing homes.
