Trilok Chand Sharma, the Bahujan Samaj Party’s New Delhi candidate, is fighting the poll on the issue of price rise. “The previous Congress and BJP governments have done nothing for the poor living in the slum clusters of this area. If we come to power, the first issue we would like to tackle is that of price rise,” he said.

Safety of women and senior citizens comes next. “Instead of just taking care of VIP movement in New Delhi area, the police should be responsible for providing security to those who live here,” he said.

A Brahmin, Sharma got the ticket thanks to BSP chief Mayawati’s social engineering formula.
