The Front, an umbrella organisation of various parties like CPM and Non-Government human rights organisations, prepared a panel of probable candidates for Jaipur parliamentary constituency yesterday, giving top priority to Roy, Sharma said in a statement.

Roy, who spearheaded the 'right to information' campaign, heads the Kisan Mazdoor Shakti Sangathan an NGO fighting for people's rights in the state.

Others who figure in the panel are Sarvodaya leader Siddha Raj Dhaddha, state president of People's Union for Civil Liberties, PK Sharma, chief of Rajasthan Samagra Seva Sangh, Sawai Singh and a journalist, Sriprakash Sharma.

The Front, formed last month, had declared that it may field its candidates in the Lok Sabha polls "to give an alternative to the people to vote for good persons".

The Front would issue its manifesto in first week of April, Sharma said.
