Photo exhibition at Alliance Francaise

These photographs are being shown under the Artist in Residence programme of the French Embassy and will be on exhibit until February 25 2007. The gallery will be open for art-lovers from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.

Umang Razdan Bhattacharyya left for Paris after having completed his diploma. This exhibition is a result of his collaboration with Marie Denechère, a French theatre actress who moved to Paris a year ago. The images that this 25-year old has shot are the interpretations of Marie’s ideas, whom he followed like a shadow over a period of life.

Their curious photographic tête-à-tête gave birth to an intimate black-and-white glimpse of Paris falling somewhere between reporting and filming.
