Ramsharma Bhagat (35), who was said to be drunk, was found dead on the beach.

Bhagat, who lived at Navpada in Andheri (East), had gone to the beach with his wife and parents.

After consuming alcohol, he moved away from his family and sat alone by the water.

“The waves could have swept the drunk man into the sea,” said Sub-Inspector S. Shaikh of Malwani police station.

“Being a Sunday, the beach was crowded and his family members might not have seen him fall,” added Shaikh.

Bhagat was declared dead on arrival at Bhagwati Hospital, Borivli.

The police have ruled out foul play.

A case of accidental death has been registered.
