PM condoles Sardesai's death

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condoles the death of former Indian cricketer Dilip Narayan Sardesai who died in Mumbai.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condoled the death of former Indian cricketer Dilip Narayan Sardesai who died in Mumbai on Monday.

Sardesai, 66, had been suffering from kidney problems for a long time and had been on dialysis, was described by the prime minister as a "great sportsperson".

He was one of India's most dependable middle order batsmen in an era dominated by England, Australia and West Indies. Sardesai made his Test debut in the 1961-62 season.
