PM receives warm welcome in Japan

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on Thursday given a warm ceremonial welcome on the first official day of his three-day visit to Japan.

Singh was presented a guard of honour and was received by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Kantei, his official residence.

Earlier in the morning, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso, Finance Minister Kazi Omi and Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry Akira Amari called on Singh at his hotel.
