PM returns from 4-day Japan tour

India and Japan establish a strategic relationship and impart a new vitality to their economic ties during PM's visit.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returned to New Delhi on Saturday evening after a four-day visit to Japan during which the two Asian powers established a strategic relationship and imparted a new vitality to their economic ties.

During his visit, the two countries signed 11 pacts and agreed to expand their relationship in diverse areas ranging from trade and economy, defence, energy, science and technology, cooperation in civilian space and cultural exchanges.

The two countries will launch negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement next year.
