“The Jamiat helped the administration restore law-and-order on Saturday night but Majid Husain should be arrested at the earliest else similar situation might arise again,” said the spokesperson Nurullah Yusuf Zai on Sunday.

Jamiat Ulama general secretary Mufti Ziyaullah Qasmi has cautioned the State Government that if such encroachments were not removed from waqf properties, these disputes will keep occurring. Qasmi urged the State Government to implement the Waqf Act 1995.

“He had encroached on the Waqf property besides fanning communal sentiments and should be booked under the National Security Act,” said Mushahid-uz-Zama Khan of All Group of Muslims, who charged Husain of misusing his position as a journalist, according to a press release issued on Sunday.
