Five suspected Shiv Sena workers were detained on Tuesday from outside the Bombay Stock Exchange building in south Mumbai before they could protest in any manner.

Shiv Sena has been protesting against the use of the word `Bombay' in various establishments since Sunday. So far it has targeted an elite school, a leading newspaper and a textile showroom in the city.

Sena's stand is that since 'Bombay' has been officially renamed as 'Mumbai', the word should not be used.

Heavy security continues to be present on the Dalal street, where BSE is located, as police fear further attempts of protest by the Sena workers.
