Imchen had been arrested in Wokha for allegedly transporting Rs.1.10 crore in cash and arms and ammunition in the poll-bound state.

Late on Monday night, he submitted his resignation letter to chief minister Neiphiu Rio.

But since the cheif minister is out of station, a decision is yet to be taken on the resignation, said Abu Mehta, press secretary to the CM.

In the letter, Imchen said the seized money -- Rs. 1.10 crore -- was received from the central office of Naga People’s Front for election purposes.
