Congress MP and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin's son is battling for his life in a Hyderabad hospital, but it is still unclear how the 19-year-old budding sportsman ended crashing his bike early Sunday morning. The clue to the mystery may lie in Mohammad Ayazuddin's Facebook posts.
Ayazuddin and his cousin Ajmal-ur-Rehman were allegedly part of an illegal bike race on Hyderbad's Outer Ring Road (ORR, where bikes are banned) on Sunday. Ayazuddin's superbike, which reportedly costs Rs 15 lakh and was gifted to him on Eid, crashed. Ajmal died in the accident and Ayazuddin was critically injured.
The authorities are now studying Facebook messages the two young men exchanged between them on Friday.
Ajmal: Change your display pic
Ayaz: Sunday morning orr (Outer Ring Road, where bikes are banned)
Ajmal: Time?
Ayaz: 4:30, 4:45 (am)
Ajmal: That’s too early. We will go a bit late
Ayaz: No. That is perfect time only
Ayazuddin and Ajmal left their homes at 6.30 am on Sunday--their bike crashed about an hour later.
