Stating the reason for disturbance in the movement of a large number of trains, Public Relation Officer, North Central Railway (NCR) RK Srivastava said on Tuesday that as the door of a bogie of the goods train coming from Jhansi was somehow left open it hit the pole of the overhead electrical wire (OHE). As a result of it the pole got twisted.

However, no damage was caused to the goods train and this train moved forward, said Srivastava.

Meanwhile the Jhansi special was coming and the panto (from where power is supplied to the train) of the special train rammed against the tilted pole of the OHE. This led to failure in the supply of power to the train, which in turn stopped the movement of trains on the route, said Srivastava.

The PRO informed that the movement of nearly half a dozen of Up line trains was affected between 45 minutes and two hours. He said that Toofan Express was delayed by 2 hours, Chambal Express by 2 hours, Kalka Mail by 45 minutes, Mahananda Express by 2 hours and Moorie Express by 1 hour and 45 minutes. It caused inconvenience to a large number of passengers who were waiting to board the affected trains.
