?Prabhat pheri?, ?pujan? mark Guru Purnima celebrations

Guru Purnima was celebrated in the city on Tuesday with solemnity. Several religious organisations conducted multiple events to mark the auspicious day. The devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Kripa Mandir, Ashok Nagar gathered at Bhardwaj Ashram early morning.

Guru Purnima was celebrated in the city on Tuesday with solemnity. Several religious organisations conducted multiple events to mark the auspicious day.

The devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Kripa Mandir, Ashok Nagar gathered at Bhardwaj Ashram early morning. Chanting of 'Omkara' was done by more than hundred devotees. Prabhat Pheri was taken out later from the Ashram and it took the route of Colonelganj area. In the evening, 'sarva dharma bhajan' was conducted at Sai Kripa Mandir.

Kathak Kendra became the hub of cultural events on the occasion. The child artistes started the event with 'guru vandana' and a dance drama 'Radha -Krishna' was presented by Ira Tandon.

Another vandana on 'thumak chalat Ram Chandra' was presented by Iti Tandon. Nandini Jaikrishna, a disciple of Urmila Sharma, eminent Kathak dancer, presented songs and dance.

Sharma said, the day is dedicated to the guru who shows the right path to his disciples. "We also wanted to acquaint the children with the guru-shishya parampara through the event," she added.

Celebrations started at Osho Sangam Meditation Centre in the evening.

Discourses and kirtan marked the event. Vedio presentation of the discourses of Osho were shown to the disciples.

The programmes at Art of Living Centre started with Sudarshan Kriya in the morning followed by Guru puja and sewa project at Sangam where more than 50 volunteers participated. In the evening a grand mahasatsang was held at Royal Garden, Katra.

The special attraction of satsang was full moon meditation in the voice of Art of Living founder Shri Shri Ravi Shanker. Prasad distribution took place at the end of the event.

Guru Purnima Pravotsav, Samuhik Gayatri jap and Gayatri deep yagya will take place at Gayatri Pragyapeeth, Kareli.

Guru pujan at Sri Devaraha Baba Ashram at Triveni Bandh started in the morning. Sunderkand Paath, bhandara and devotional songs marked the occasion.

Celebrations also took place at Sri Devaraha Baba Sarveshwar Sanskar Ashram at Daraganj.

The devotees at Nimbark Ashram remembered their gurus on the occasion and paid tributes to them. Charan paduka pujan, Harinaam sankirtan, and discourses were held at the temple.

Likewise, guru pujan was held at several other places such as Chinmay Mission, Rasoolabad, Math Baghambari Gaddi, and Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan.
