Pranab, Arjun Singh re-nominated to CEC

Those who were dropped included Prabha Rao, Begum Noor Bano and LP Shahi.

Pranab Mukherjee, Arjun Singh, AK Antony and Ambika Soni have been re-nominated to the Central Election Committee of the Congress which was reconstituted by the Party Chief on Monday.

Ahmed Patel, Margaret Alva, Ramnaresh Yadav and ML Fotedar have also been retained in the reconstituted body whose new members include Oscar Fernandes, Mohsina Kidwai and Ashok Ram, AICC general secretary Janardan Dwiwedi said in a statement in New Delhi.

Those who were dropped included Prabha Rao, Begum Noor Bano and LP Shahi.

The 12-member committee headed by Sonia Gandhi would be having its first meeting later in the day to finalise party nominee for the Assam Assembly polls.
