Pravin had sought bail contending that since the investigations were over and the chargesheet filed, he should be granted liberty.
Police on Saturday opposed the bail plea of Pravin Mahajan, accused of killing his elder brother and BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan, at a local court, which adjourned the matter to August 1.
Police objected to Pravin's bail saying that if he was released, he would abscond.

After a brief hearing, the court posted the matter for further hearing to August 1.
Pravin was arrested on April 22 after he allegedly shot his brother at the latter's Worli residence in central Mumbai.
Pramod was admitted to Hinduja Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries 12 days later.
