Praying for ?Lord? Mulayam
WHEN GOD blesses and bestows, devotees have to thank in return. But when your god is a chief minister the best place to say thanks is the Vidhan Sabha Bhavan, the hub of state politics.
Dayaram Prajapati, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Nagrik Parishad (cabinet rank) did the same. He even found the ‘evil of society’ in Mayawati whose power has to be curbed by ‘Lord’ Mulayam.
All this because Mulayam gave the Prajapati Samaj people a place in schedule castes’ list in February this year.
Decorated with a large off white Pandal, the road before the Vidhan Sabha had all preparations like that of a temple. The CM’s big portrait was kept on the dais and 101 Brahmins were called to chant the sacred Mahamrityunja mantra for a long life of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“Lord Mulayam has changed the takdir (fate) and tasveer (picture) of the Prajapati Samaj. If Mulayam is Bhagwan, Mayawati is the biggest enemy of society and only Mulayam would get rid of her to save the future of the society,” Prajapati who is also the Samajwadi Party nominee for the Vidhan Parishad elections.
The big portrait of Mulayam was worshipped and arti was done. His picture was then offered ‘prasad’ and the remnants distributed among those present.
The programme commenced with Shivarchana at 11.45 am and went on till 3 pm when the Brahmins were given cash for their effort towards good health of the CM.
“It was Mayawati who called upon the people publicly to stop worshipping Hindu gods and goddesses knowing that majority of people from Kumhar and Prajapati are artisans and sale of idols give them livelihood,” Prajapati stated.
He asked, if Ambedkar could be worshipped in houses for uplifting a community why couldn’t Prajapati community worship Mulayam? “Mulayam is currently not well and we all want him to be fit for the benefit of all so the yagna was performed here,” participants in the programme said.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Cooperative Shardanand Anchal has planned to organise ‘sarvadharm path’ for long life of Mulayam. Anchal told media persons that the chief minister was ill and the programme was being organized for his early recovery.
