Speaking at a function held by the UDF committee to felicitate Union Ministers from the state, Antony, also CWC member, said not only the UPA government’s “achievements” but the “failure” of the LDF government also contributed to the UDF victory.

For the purpose of the state’s development, both the Centre and the state government should work hand in hand, Antony said. “The previous UPA government was very generous in sanctioning projects to the state and the present government will also do everything possible for the state,” he said.

Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi said people gave a fitting reply to the “wrong” policies of the LDF government. “Lok Sabha poll results reflected people’s sentiments in the state,” he added.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, Opposition leader and former chief minister Oommen Chandy, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala were among those present.
