The meeting, chaired by District Inspector of Schools Onkar Shukla discussed problems raised by principals and centre superintendents regarding conduction of the board examinations.

It may be mentioned here that the UP Board examinations are scheduled to start from March 4.

The principals were of the view that it was their duty to conduct copying-free Board examinations but they faced a lot of problems. Security personnel generally came late at examination centres after the examinations had started and left the examination centres before the scheduled time.

The principals and centre superintendents urged that the administration should ensure proper deployment of security personnel at the centres throughout the period of examination.

They also urged proper working of all the flying squads constituted for taking rounds at examination centres.

Unlike the previous years, this year the centre superintendents and principals got 50 per cent of the total answer-sheets but limited number of supplementary answer -sheets. The principals expressed their concern over lack of supplementary answer-sheets and said that the supplementary answer sheets given to them barely cover one or two examinations. For the deployment of class invigilators, it was decided in the meeting that teachers of primary schools could be deployed during the examinations of compulsory subjects or in the interior examination centres on the demand of centre superintendents and principals of the examination centres.

The DIOS and Basic Shiksha Adhikari Vinod Rai assured the principals and class superintendents to extend all possible assistance for smooth conduction of examinations. District Magistrate Nitin Ramesh Gokarn is likely to attend the meeting on Wednesday evening.

Prominent among the principals and class superintendents who addressed the meeting were Dr. Tribhuvan Singh, Dev Krishna Sharma, Dr. Shashikant Singh, Dr. Radhakant Mishra, Beni Madhao and Awadh Kishore Singh.
