"This question has been asked for past 10 years and you will keep on asking this for another 10 years," said Priyanka while replying to questions at Munshiganj Guest House in Amethi before leaving for Rae Bareli on Sunday.

"Priyanka will certainly join actively politics. This is evident from the manner in which she is conducting the election campaign of her mother Sonia Gandhi and her brother Rahul Gandhi," said Vijay Shankar Agnihotri a Congress leader of Rae Bareli. Other Congressmen also expressed similar views saying that she would join active politics sooner or later.

Replying to a question on why Congress performed well in Lok Sabha elections and failed to do so in Vidhan Sabha Priyanka said conducting the Congress' campaign in assembly elections was going to be her first experience. Priyanka however said she was taking the Vidhan Sabha elections in the same manner in which she took the Lok Sabha elections. Priyanka however parried a question about attending wedding of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwariya Rai.

Replying to another question Priyanka said it was surprising that Chief Minister failed to see any development there. "How can he know about the development in Amethi and Rae Bareli? Does he visit Amethi and Rae Bareli," asked Priyanka adding that a number of development projects had been initiated there.

"My brother asked me campaign and take care of the assembly constituencies. While he is taking care of the party campaign throughout the state, I would be concentrating in Amethi and Rae Bareli," she said while replying to another question.

Significantly Priyanka inaugurated the party's election office for Rae Bareli Vidhan Sabha constituency from where the ABCD MLA Akhilesh Kumar Singh is a candidate. Singh is lodged in Kanpur jail in a murder case. Priyanka has already assured Congress's Rae Bareli candidate RP Singh that she would give more time to the constituency.

Earlier while presiding over meetings of Congress workers of Bachhrawan and Sareni assembly constituencies at Rae Bareli Priyanka warned Congress workers to discipline them or face action.

A piquant situation unfolded when a Congress worker pointed out that the party had not given tickets to Brahmins. At this point some workers said that the party was giving due importance to Brahmins. Uma Shanka Mishra was holding the post of district Congress Committee president, he said asking what else should be done for Brahmins.

The Congress candidate from Sareni Ashok Singh asked the Brahmin workers present in the meeting to raise hands if they supported his candidature. Soon a number of Congress workers raised their hands. "The Congress workers are not upset with him," he said while responding to those who pointed out that the Congress candidate was not meeting party workers.
