After the moderately successful Tum Bin and some forgettable flicks later, actor Priyanshu Chatterjee will be seen in director Nandita Singha’s debut film Main Rony aur Jony.

A comic caper, the movie also stars Sandali Sinha, model turned actor Aditya Bal and Miss India Sayali Bhagat.

“I have worked hard and made my actors to undergo a tedious 50 days workshop like a corporate house. It was needed and I know they will say films have never been made the way we did,” says the director, who comes from a non-filmy background.

She has dabbled in the field of sports as Indian spiker (volleyball) and is also the brain behind her company Tez Technologies, which has expertise in the world of video conferencing and is branching into entertainment.

“Films have always attracted me, but I needed a firm footing first. I set up Tez Tehnologies 10 years back. We have also been working since the last couple of years to produce and make films of different genre,” says Nandita.

Nandita Singha’s debut film Main Rony aur Jony is a comic caper starring Priyanshu Chatterjee Sandali Sinha, model turned actor Aditya Bal and Miss India Sayali Bhagat.

For a first timer, isn’t it a dicey situation to make a comedy film? Nandita is confident and discloses, “Comedy is a serious business like any other corporate business. However, if you know what you want, you can work to achieve the results with true passion. That is why by the end of the workshops, my stars started carrying their notepad with pen all the time for briefing."

“Now this may sound hilarious, but it has fetched my actors a great deal. This is just the beginning and we all have to go a long way. And the better way to move ahead is to move with better people from start.”

What separates Nandita from other lady directors is that she has never assisted any body from the film fraternity. Though trained in filmmaking, she admits to have learnt everything by trial and error. But the lady has big dreams. Her expectations from her debut film are simple: “Main Rony aur Jony should say it is a Nandita Singha film! I want to leave my autograph with my first film, touchwood!”
