It is to be noted that Dwivedi had challenged the election of Yadav as AU students union president by questioning Yadav’s admission. On the other hand, Yadav levelled charges against Dwivedi. A three-member committee was formed to inquire the issue which presented its report about Yadav confirming the charges. The committee also presented a report on the academic record of Dwivedi which showed deception and raised question over the working of the then authorities and officials.
According to the report, Dwivedi failed in BSc -I examination and passed by securing 10 marks in second examination. The reports said that Dwivedi secured 187 marks out of 450 in the first year and 175 in the second year. However, he managed to change his first year’s marks from 187 to 277. The grand total shows a total of 452 mark obtained in the marksheet.
The report also revealed that Dwivedi took admission in LLB in 1983 in CMP Degree College and failed in the second year. He manged to get direct admission in LLB-III at AU without clearing the second year. He passed LLB from AU in 1987 and received the degree in 1989. Later, he took admission in PGDBM in 1990 without submitting any work experience certificate, which was mandatory.
As per the report, Dwivedi passed MA (Hindi) in 1986 with third division and got enrolled in research at AU. Since then Dwivedi is continuing his research defying the UGC rules which permits research for maximum of seven years only.
The report also raised question over the working of the then VCs and officials of the varsity. AU registrar Firdous A Wani said, “We have given an opportunity to both the candidates to explain their conduct and demanded their written version on the report by December 4,” said Wani.
Charges denied: Raghunath Dwivedi said he had not received any such report and said that rumours were being aired by his opponents. He said the charges levelled against him were baseless.
