The allotment will take place according to the current strength of a particular political party in Parliament, Union Minister for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
Political parties must build their offices within three years and vacate their old offices, Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy said.
With increasing demand by political parties for land in the national capital to house their offices, the Urban Development Ministry had prepared in April 2006 a proposal for allotment of land to these parties depending on their current strength in Parliament.
