According to the complaint filed by the victim's father, the accused, a police sub-inspector, raped his daughter after inviting her to his house at Kalinganagar in Khurusia village on July 15.

The marriage between accused Ghanashyam Hesa and the victim, who are childhood friends, was earlier fixed for on Sunday, he said in the complaint.

Hesa was suspended from service and a local court remanded him in judicial custody, Superintendent of Police, Jajpur, D S Kuttey said.

The girl has been admitted to SCB medical college hospital at Cuttack.
