Protests on despite curfew

Hundreds of protestors defied curfew and security restrictions re-imposed on Tuesday in various parts of Kashmir. The protests were held against the killing of four persons in police firing in Baramulla district, 30 km from Srinagar, on Monday. HT reports.

Hundreds of protestors defied curfew and security restrictions re-imposed on Tuesday in various parts of Kashmir. The protests were held against the killing of four persons in police firing in Baramulla district, 30 km from Srinagar, on Monday.

Protestors also attacked three police stations in Sopore, Srinagar and Anantnag. Some protesters hurled petrol bombs in Srinagar and Sopore.

The attackers were chased away by tear-gas shells and firing in the air. The death toll in Monday's firing at Baramulla's Pattan area rose to four after teenager Mudasir Ahmad succumbed to bullet injuries in hospital.
