Pune: class 12 student rapes 6-yr-old

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a Class 12 student at Hadapsar, an eastern suburb in Pune, on Tuesday. Police arrested the accused and identified him as Abishek Shinde, saying he was not a minor.
Shinde attacked the child in the morning at a ground where she had gone with her younger sister to answer nature’s call. Frightened, the younger child ran screaming to their house in a slum nearby. By the time the parents, labourers at a construction site, reached the ground, Shinde had fled leaving the child unconscious, police said. The child’s description of the rapist’s dress — black trouser and white shirt, the uniform of a local college — helped the police zero in on Shinde.
Man rapes mentally challenged teen
Bangalore: A mentally challenged and hearing impaired 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour, a truck driver, in Bangalore rural district, 30 km away from the capital, on Monday evening, police said.The girl was alone at home when J Prakash lured her by offering biscuits. He took her on his motorcycle to a remote place where he raped her, police said. Police arrested Prakash after registering a case on the complaint of the girl’s father.
Panchayat member accused of rape
Bulandshahr: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a zila panchayat member in the district, police said on Tuesday.
In a complaint to the police on Monday, the girl’s father alleged his daughter was abducted by two men on December 29, 2012, and handed her over to Ravindra Lodhi, a zila panchayat member who had contested the 2012 assembly polls from Anoopshahr area. He allegedly kept the girl captive for a day and raped her. The three accused have been taken into custody, police said.
Nurse forced to marry rapist
Ferozepur: More than two months after marriage, a nurse has alleged that she was forced to wed her rapist.
Her husband, Om Parkash, and five others including the woman’s aunt are now charged with rape and blackmailing the victim to compel her to marry against her wish. The police have not made any arrests, waiting for completion of investigation.
On December 27, 2012, the woman lodged a complaint with the police that on October 13, 2012, her aunt tricked her into going to a house and drugged her, following which Parkash raped her. She alleged her aunt and the other accused told her they had shot a video of the crime and blackmailed her into marrying Parkash the next day.
Stalked, 20-year-old commits suicide
Nagpur: A 20-year-old woman stalked and harassed by a used vehicles dealer for over two years committed suicide at her home in Akola, about 250 km from Nagpur, in western Vidarbha on Monday evening, police said.
The college student, daughter of an autorickshaw driver, hanged herself. In a suicide note, she revealed Chandrakant Borkar, 35, had tormented her. Borkar allegedly used to pass lewd remarks whenever she passed by on her way to tuitions and also pestered her with phone calls, police said. Borkar is on the run.
One minor raped, another set on fire
Aligarh: A minor was allegedly raped and another was set on fire by her stalker in the district, police said. The minor, whose age has not been ascertained, was raped when she was returning from her aunt’s home on Monday evening.
In a separate incident, a man barged into the home of a 16-year-old girl on Monday night and set her on fire for rejecting his advances. The girl has sustained 90% burns and is struggling for life. The police are hunting for the accused in the cases.
Married woman raped by builder in thane
Thane: A 38-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a Virar-based builder for over three years at her residence, police said.
The accused, Kirti Kumar Chorge, 40, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman at her house in front of her teenaged daughter and son, police added.
Though the woman was repeatedly raped by the accused for over three years, she lodged an FIR against him on December 24 after confiding in local MLA Vivek Pandit.
“The police had initially turned the woman away when she sought to register an FIR against Chorge,” Pandit said. Police refused to comment on the allegations of cover-up.
