Punjab Police defeated Border Security Force 2-0 to win the 56th All India Police Hockey Championship at the Surjit Hockey Stadium here on Sunday.

Forward Satwinder Singh converted a penalty corner in the third minute to give Punjab Police an early lead.

In the second half, Punjab Police earned another penalty corner and their star player Gagan Ajit Singh shot home to make it 2-0.

In another match, Jammu and Kashmir Police pipped Maharashtra Police 4-3 via sudden death.

The CRPF team bagged the Fair Play Trophy of the tournament.
