Puppet festival showcases Premchand?s works
A THREE-DAY puppet festival highlighting the essence of Munshi Premchand?s stories began at the Nagari Natak Mandali auditorium here on Tuesday evening. The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Vibhag, is organising the festival. Two of Premchand?s compositions ?Heera-Moti? and ?Namrata Ki Vijay? were staged.

The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Vibhag, is organising the festival. Two of Premchand’s compositions ‘Heera-Moti’ and ‘Namrata Ki Vijay’ were staged.
The Samarthan Art Group of New Delhi staged ‘Heera-Moti’ directed by Kapil Dev. The music and lighting arrangements garnished the show presented by Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Abhishek Jha, Shahadat and Kapil Dev.
Vijay Singh presented the story and Anil Saxena arranged the music. Milind Srivastava supervised the lighting arrangements. Anil Kumar, Rajesh Lohit, Pankaj and Sanjay were instrumental in making the puppets.
Artistes of the Uttar Pradesh Lok Rang Manch staged the show on ‘Namrata Ki Vijay’ directed by Farid Ahmad. The show depicted relations between a teacher and students. Ashok Rana, Umesh Kumar, Vijay Singh Mehta, Amit Singh, Manoj Kashyap, Pankaj Pal, Krishna Bihari and Ravi Sharma presented it.
